A large fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a settlement of the Villa Crespo neighborhood. So far, there have been 25 evacuations, including children, and two minor injuries reported. 

Villa Crespo is a neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires, southwest of Palermo and neighboring the intersection of Dorrego and Corrientes avenues.

The fire was brought under control as of 7:30 AM, and according to firefighters, the resulting small outbreaks are being put out. The settlement was made up of wooden and sheet metal houses, with approximately 25 residents living there. 

The official cause of the fire is still unknown.

Officials indicated that two to three gas canisters exploded, but that experts are awaiting the results of exactly how the fire started in the settlement.

The injured parties include a 71-year-old man who experienced smoke inhalation and an 80-year-old man who suffered head trauma.

They are receiving medical attention after being transferred to the Tornú and Pirovano hospitals.

Since the start of the fire, 12 ambulances had arrived on the scene, as well as five active fire crews.
