    Ghana port authorities ask that Argentine ship vacate Tema port

    Ghanaian port authorities sent a plea to a judge today asking that the Argentine navy training frigate Libertad, which has been impounded for three weeks, be vacated from Tema port due to it taking up critical space in the terminal.

    The Libertad training ship (Fragata Libertad) sailed into Puerto Madero after completing its 42nd navy training mission. It sailed through several South American ports including Recife (Brazil), Paramirabo (Surinam), La Guaira (Venezuela), Punta Arenas (Chile), El Callao (Peru), and Montevideo, Uruguay.

    Fragata Libertad sets sail on South Atlantic tour

    The Fragata Libertad training ship set sail today from Buenos Aires’ City port, upon the graduation of 69 midshipmen, 15 of which are women, which will make a trip across the South Atlantic visiting Latin American, European and African ports including Angola, Ghana and Namibia.

    Ghana judge rejects Argentine claim, training ship remains seized

    A Ghanaian judge rejected today the plea put forward by Argentina to release the Libertad training ship, which has been detained in a port close to Accra with its crew since October 2nd due to a complaint by a US hedge fund.
