Rousseff congratulates CFK on Primary win

President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, congratulated President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner today, following the results of the primary elections on Sunday in which she led by over 50 points. According to official sources the pair are to hold a meeting prior to the G-20 summit.

'There is no need to magnify vote count irregularities,' Lorenzetti

The head of the Supreme Court, Ricardo Lorenzetti, came out to speak, in a bid to ease tensions over the errors detected in the counting of votes during the primary elections on August 14, stating there was no need to “magnify” the situation.

Electoral ban officially in effect

As of Friday 8am, leading up to the primary elections this Sunday, the country is officially on an electoral ban. In line with the National Electoral Code, until Sunday no electoral polls are to be published, rallies are forbidden and election material distribution banned across the whole country.
