    National, City Gov’t clash over Illia Highway delays

    Transport Secretary Juan Pablo Schiavi and Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri clashed over the delays in the completion of works on the Illia Highway. During a press conference, Schiavi assured that the government "has never engaged in dialogue with the City over the highway" and urged the Macri administration "to stop fooling around.”

    Residents from the Villa 31 shantytown staged a roadblock on the Illia Highway for over six hours interrupting traffic completely, in order to protest that the SAME ambulances refuse to enter the area due to insecurity.

    Villa 31 residents lift Illia highway entrance blockade

    A group of Villa 31 shanty-town residents lifted the 12 hour roadblock they had staged in Castillo street and the access to the Illia highway. They will meet on Monday with City's Government Secretary in order to negotiate two school buses to take their children to nearby kindergartens.
