    Former British Vice-Admiral justifies 'Belgrano' attack in Malvinas War

    On the 30th anniversary of the conflict, the member of the Royal Navy who was responsible for coordinating the attack on the Argentina Navy cruiser “General Belgrano” during the Malvinas war, spoke to UK-based newspaper “The News,” in Portsmouth and explained the steps that led up to the attack that caused 323 deaths and why it was justified at the time.

    'Cruise General Belgrano Tournament' causes media reactions in the UK

    News media in the United Kingdom accused the Argentine government today of piling up more pressure on the Malvinas Islands controversy by naming its forthcoming First Division football tournament after General Belgrano cruise, which was sunk by British Royal Navy submarine during the 1982 Malvinas’ war.

    AFA questioned over tournament's new name

    Football's governing body FIFA has questioned the Argentine FA over reports that the country's championship could be renamed after the General Belgrano cruiser sunk by the British Royal Navy when it was outside the British-declared Total Exclusion Zone during the Malvinas war in 1982.
