    Domestic flights suffer delays, cancellations due to ash cloud

    Domestic flights, particularly to the south of Argentina were still suffering delays and cancellations today, following backing-up of airline services yesterday, as many flights were suspended due to the new presence of an ash cloud coming from the Chilean Puyehue volcano in the south.

    Lan Argentina and Aerolineas Argentinas informed its customers on Saturday that flight schedules were running as normal, to and from Aeroparque and Ezeiza international airport, after having cancelled services on Friday due to the lingering presence of ash coming from the Chilean Puyehue volcano, which had blown its way back into Buenos Aires.

    Airports resume activities, flights heading to South still cancelled

    Both Ezeiza and Aeroparque airports began to gradually reschedule flights that were previously cancelled due to the return of the ash cloud produced by the Chilean Puyehue volcano, airlines informed. Those flights heading towards the Southern area of the country are still cancelled.

    According to an official from the National Administration of Civic Aviation (ANAC), the ash cloud being produced by the Chilean Puyehue volcano has returned to Buenos Aires and caused flight delays and cancellations at both Aeroparque and Ezeiza airports.
