    CFK arrives to Chile ahead of Piñera meeting

    President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner landed in Santiago, Chile, where she will meet with her Chilean counterpart Sebastián Piñera. Fernández de Kirchner and Piñera will hold a meeting on Friday and will discuss the Argentine claim of sovereignty over the Malvinas islands and trade barriers, among other topics.

    Chilean students ask for plebiscite as demonstrations continue

    Chilean students called President Sebastian Piñera “unyielding” and refuse to go back to the negation table and press for an education plebiscite to be carried out. Incidents were reported today at Technology University surrounding and last night when the police tried to clear the university premises. Piñera has fail to present a new proposition for the Chilean educational system.

    Fires that kill six in Chile are 'terrorist acts,' Piñera

    Chilean President Sebastián Piñera announced that six firefighters died while trying to put out the fires affecting the municipality of Carahue, 700 kilometres south of  Santiago, and assured that the fires were started "by criminals with terrorist intentions."
