    Máximo Kirchner, the elder and only son of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, was recovering well, following his knee surgery for septic arthritis he underwent on Monday, and is to remain under medical observation for a week, the Austral Hospital said today.

    One person was found dead and at least fifteen people were reported injured this morning in two car crashes that affected some 15 vehicles along Route 8 close to Pilar. Two kilometres of tailbacks were being caused along the motorway route as a result of the accidents.
