The Greek parliament's vote in favour of austerity plans today clears the way for approval of the next tranche of its bailout and for progress on a new round of financial help, the EU's top two officials said.
EU leaders must find a convincing solution to Greece's debt crisis at a summit tomorrow or the global economy will pay the price, the head of the European Commission said in an unusually somber warning.
Today, the European Commission called for a re-assessment of all elements of the euro zone's current and future bailout funds, including size, to persuade markets the euro zone can respond to the debt crisis.
