The space shuttle Enterprise flew to New York from Washington today piggybacked atop a Boeing 747, making a dramatic flight along the Hudson River past the Statue of Liberty to the delight of observers.
The space shuttle Enterprise - named after the spaceship in Star Trek - floated past the Statue of Liberty on a barge and docked near its new home at a museum on New York's Hudson River.
The Enterprise has landed in New York City, where starting on Thursday the public will be allowed a close-up look at the first, prototype space shuttle created by NASA in 1976.
