Subway workers open ticket barriers, to go on strike on Thursday

The service will also be halted tomorrow from 11 am to 16 pm as subway workers protest and demand the “opening of wage negotiations and investments.”

Subway workers opened ticket barriers in all six Buenos Aires City subway lines at the head subway stations allowing commuters to travel for free from 9 am to 11 pm on Wednesday.

The service will also be halted on Thursday from 11 am to 4 pm as subway workers protest and demand the “opening of wage negotiations and investments” to improve services.

The subway workers who carried out the protest pertain to the “supervisors” union (APSESBA) and did so “to demand the changing of a supervisor’s hours,” the company stated yesterday.

The opening of ticket barriers took place in Carabobo y Primera Junta (A line), Federico Lacroze y Los Incas (B line), Constitución (C line), Congreso de Tucumán (D line), Plaza de los Virreyes (E line) and Parque Patricios (H line) stations.
