Crossfire between Servini de Cubría, Tullio over primaries
The national electoral director, Alejandro Tullio, assured that next month’s primary elections “are going to be held” and added that “plenty of times the judges have showed their concern over the lack of funds and that the government has always answered to them and solved the issue.”
Tullio answered to the letter sent by Buenos Aires city electoral Judge María Servini de Cubría to the National Electoral Committee to warn about the lack of funds and added that “when they run out of funds the work will be suspended, even if it leads to the suspension of the electoral acts.”
“I guarantee that the election will be held,” Tullio assured, “he funds accumulated this year reaches almost 100 million pesos.”
The official said that Servini de Cubría “sent a letter to the head of the Electoral Committee on Wednesday, it was analyzed on Thursday, and decided to sent it to the Interior Ministry yesterday, where it will be debated and solved by Monday.”
