Is Jorge Rial leaving América?

 “Intrusos en el espectáculo" is a tv show generates scandals and fights among low tier reality show stars and actors and by far, the most watched programme of América ‘s broadcast. But the show became the centre of attention for all the wrong reasons on Monday when its host, Jorge Rial, was forbidden to talk about the Martin Fierro awards and the show didn't air.

 Rial and network América got into a serious dispute Monday when the channel forbid Intrusos to mention the Martin Fierro awards ceremony, which celebrates the best of Argentine tv and radio shows and is the most important award in local show business.

Rial disagreed with América’s stance, and refused to host his live tv show. He met the channel’s authorities with his lawyers.

As soon as people noticed that Intrusos wasn’t airing as usual, rumours started flying in social media sites, particularly in Twitter. " Has Rial quit Intrusos? What’s going on?" people wondered.

Meanwhile, the host kept his Twitter profile uncharacteristically calm, and a few hours later simply wrote a slightly cryptic message “easy. One does not quit from his home. In any case the locks are changed. Thanks for all your support, this is a moment for reflexion. I´ll host my radio show tomorrow. Nothing else,” he said.

 América owner Daniel Vilá wrote on his own twitter profile that the channel’s “doors are always open for Rial.” However, there is a ongoing conflict between both men. At the beginning of the year, Vilá forbid Intrusos to mention Showmatch, by far the most popular tv show in Argentine television, in order not to give it even more popularity.

Will Rial leave América and Intrusos, the tv show he has hosted for the past ten years? Only time will tell.
