BA City Gov’t offers 31% salary rise to teachers
Buenos Aires City Government offered today a 31 percent rise to teachers unions to be paid in two parts, the first one in March and the second one in August, teacher representatives told reporters after today’s meeting with City officials.
According to union sources, the first increment would be of 20% and the second one of 11%.
The proposal also contains a 42% rise in basic wage, which would reach 5,050 pesos in March and 6,150 pesos in August.
“The offer will be first discussed in union assembly and then we’ll determine if the offer is accepted or not”, union sources said.
This was the fourth salary talk meeting between Buenos Aires City teachers unions and Government officials.
The negotiations develop together with National bargains, which were postponed for next Monday, while announced strikes for March 5 and 6 remain suspended.
