CFK visited La Plata's victims, met with Scioli
After calling off her official agenda, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner arrived in helicopter at La Plata city to visit and and encourage the victims of the storm that battered BA province and met with governor Daniel Scioli.
“Mi mother lives in Tolosa and has no power, no water, no gas, just like any other neighbour, ”CFK told reporters covering the scene as she left the meeting she held with Scioli. The neighborhood of Tolosa is the area that the heavy rains affected the most.The head of state explained that both national and provincial authorities are working hard to identify the victims who lost their lives due to the violent storm.
Fernández de Kirchner also visited some groups of neighbours who have been struggling over the past hours against floods and said that people are not only worried about the losses and damages but mostly about security as the night approaches and fear of crime increases.
CFK arrived in BA province's capital city joined by Security Secretary Sergio Berni, Victory Front lawmaker Andrés Larroque and presidential spokesman Alfredo Scoccimarro.
The President was going to lead a political rally today at 6 pm at the Argentine Women Hall of the Government House but the tragic events in the province of Buenos Aires forced her to suspend her activities.
According to the secretary office of the presidency headed by Oscar Parrili, today's ceremnoy has been rescheduled for next Monday also at 6pm.
