Pinamar: Police after hit-and-run driver, one hospitalised
It surfaced this morning that a man was hit on Sunday by a luxurious truck that ran away as he was exercising on a beach in Pinamar. According to first reports police is still trying to identify the driver but local journalistic investigations aim to the son of a renowned businessman.
The accident took place on Sunday around 6:50 am, and after a rave party held in Puerto Banus seaside resort - intersection of Del Mar Avenue and Tiburón Street- had concluded.
According to Pinamar’s Safety Director Jorge Van der Gothe, “a white 4x4 vehicle took on the beach performing some high-risk maneuvers at high speed, to then hit the victim right in front of the Puerto Banus.”
Likewise, Van der Gothe told reporters that the case “is still under investigation as we do not know yet the identity of the hit-and-run driver.”
Witnesses indicated the run-away truck was a white Range Rover.
Reporter for news web site “Pinamar 24” Diego Uribe, who’s currently investigating the case, said the victim was identified as Nilberto Mario Caihuara. With multiple bone fractures the young man was immediately taken to a clinic in Mar del Plata city, where he remains at the intensive care unit.
