Former referee Guillermo Nimo dies aged 80

Former referee Guillermo Nimo died early morning aged 80 in the Otamendi clinic, where he had been hospitalized in a critical condition and underwent an angioplasty on Friday.

Nimo was a goalkeeper in his youth and made it to the Huracán lower division. Later he became a referee, career which he undertook between 1955 and 1969.

He later participated in several radio and televisión programmes, in which he did not hesitate to make controversial comment and stood out with his trademark over the top suits and rings.

He also appeared in two movies and filmed a music video with popular rock band Los Auténticos Decadentes in the nineties.
