Unionists protest against changes in health care scheme
The White and Blue CGT, led by Luis Barrionuevo staged a protest in downtown Buenos Aires, supported by fellow unionists Pablo Moyano, leader of the truck drivers union, to reject resolution 1200, which affects services provided by union health care companies.
Demonstrators marched down 9 de Julio Avenue to the National Health Services Department, located at Roque Sáenz Peña street, where allies including truck drivers union members led by Pablo Moyano, and rubber workers union later joined them.
As part of a joint action plan agreed upon Barrionuevo and Pablo Moyano, the dissident CGT vowed that five thousand members would participate in the protest.
“Resolution 1200 leaves out the children with special needs of members of union health care companies,” an official said.
