Lower House to debate teen suffrage
The debate at the Lower House of Congress over government-sponsored teen suffrage bill will begin on Wednesday.
The bill has already been preliminary approved by the Senate and is expected to be passed on Wednesday.
The head of the pro-government bloc, Agustín Rossi, has already called for a special session this day to begin at 11:45am.
Lawmakers from the Radical Party, Peronist Front and PRO bloc are expected to vote against the bill, as the representatives of the Broad Progressive Front have already announced they will abstain from voting.
The pro-government initiative establishes that the vote will be optional for those between 16 and 18 years old.
The Upper House of Congress preliminary approved the bill with 52 votes in favour and only three against.
