Néstor Kirchner remembered two years after his death
Late president Néstor Kirchner was remembered today on the second anniversary of his death. President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner attended a private ceremony at the cemetery where her husband's remains were laid to rest in Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz province.
Former president Néstor Kirchner passed away unexpectedly from a heart condition on October 27th, 2010. He was 60 years old and a national lawmaker for Buenos Aires province at the time of his death.
Vice-president Amado Boudou and ANSeS social security agency head Diego Bossio led a rally at Racing's stadium in the Greater Buenos Aires area of Avellaneda, club of which the late president was a rabid fan.
"Sometimes we must go down memory lane. Argentina was destroyed, disheartened and Néstor came along with his convictions, his strength, with a handfull of votes but with a huge heart to change Argentina, and that is his fundamental legacy," Bossio said as he took part, along with Boudou of recreational activities with over 400 children.
Another massive was scheduled to take place in Parque Lezama square, where human rights activists were set to pay tribute to Kirchner.
Buenos Aires province.Governor Daniel Scioli assured that "the best way honour Kirchner's life and workk is to move forward whis project, in which education was an essential aspect," as he inaugurated two new schools in Lobos.
