Robbers hijack computer van, get away with US$250,000 stash

A group of criminals got away with a stash of expensive computers and equipment estimated to cost over US$250,000, after hijacking a van driving along 25 de Mayo motorway in Buenos Aires this morning.

After the robbery two men were arrested in connection with the crime, at the junction of Ricchieri and General Paz motorways.

The robbery was carried out via three vehicles that cornered the van on the routeway in broad daylight, in the middle of rush hour.

The van was travelling from Ezeiza airport and was carrying 110 Mac Book Air computers and other Apple brand products, in order to take them to the Macstation store in downtown Buenos Aires.
