'We cannot wait until Tuesday for a response,' Vidal
Deputy Mayor for Buenos Aires City, María Eugenia Vidal.
Deputy-Mayor for the city government María Eugenia Vidal asked the national government to provide a response to the protest still being carried out by Border and Coast guards today, underlining that waiting until next week for a response was not a possibility.
The statements come following Mauricio Macri’s speech given yesterday, urging the government to make moves in order to clear the protests, as “the city’s streets could not be blocked like this.”
Similarly, Vidal also said that extra Metropolitan Police would be sent out to the protest-affected areas.
“We cannot wait until Tuesday for a response to this conflict. This is not a situation that can be left in the air.”
