Media Law: Sabbatella invites opposition to bicameral committee

Lower House president, Julián Domínguez (L), Vice President Amado Boudou (C-L), Martín Sabbatella (C-R), Agustín Rossi (R)

The head of the Federal Authority for Audiovisual and Communication Services (AFSCA) Martín Sabbatella defended the Media Law today and called the opposition lawmakers to be part of the bicameral committee that will monitor the Law.

“The Media Law is in favour of freedom of expression. The government is not trying to nationalize its media," he said.

“What’s more, the main media groups are hurting the freedom of expression,” Sabbatella added after meeting in the Congress with the head of the Victory Front's caucus in the Lower House Agustín Rossi, Vice-President Amado Boudou and the Lower House president, Julián Domínguez.
