City Gov't refuses talks while sit-ins continue in 30 schools

Buenos Aires City Minister of Education Esteban Bullrich made clear this morning that his department was not prepared to engage in dialogue with students carrying out sit-ins in more than 30 public schools across the city and linked the causes of measure to the national government.

“We are not going to engage in dialogue with the students, because engaging in dialogue with them would lead to a chain of formal communication, taking away authority from the directors of our schools.

"This is not something we wish to do as we trust them,” Bullrich said today during a local radio interview.

The city official did not hold back in denying that the main push factor behind the protests was largely fuelled by the national government stating that “yesterday flags from Kirchnerite unions were present, showing their presence for the national government.”

Due to this, Bullrich underlined that these kinds of protests will “only be resolved in 2014” following up with the fact that “there is no such explanation as to why the conflict continues to worsen.”
