Argentine top tennis player Juan Mónaco skimmed his way through to the quarter finals in Kuala Lumpur after beating Taiwan player Jimmy Wang by a tight 6-4 and 7-5 after an hour and 50 minute match in the Malaysian Open Men’s Singles.
Mónaco, currently number 11 in the ATP world rating, pulled through the match with relative ease, and is to play tomorrow in the quarter finals against Canadian player Vasek Pospisil, who yesterday beat US player Michael Yani.
“I’m really happy following my first match in the Malaysian Open, and thanks to everyone for the support,” the Tandil native said on his Twitter account minutes after winning.
