Cavalieri: 'A new CGT will be born on Oct. 3'

“On October 3rd a new CGT will be born, marking the reclaim of the administration of the worker’s central”, Cavalieri said today.

Retail Store Workers Federation boss Armando Cavalieri came on stage today to state that the October’s CGT Election Day will mark the end of an era for the umbrella union.

“On October 3rd a new CGT will be born, marking the reclaim of the administration of the worker’s central”, Cavalieri said. “We already have planned for the CGT to be a tri party union,” the unionist explained.

Before entering a religious event, Cavalieri told reporters the new CGT is to be born in “the absence of Moyano.” The unionist stressed that amongst the most urgent problems to be addressed by a new administration are “the income tax, universal child allowance and the situation of the retired.”

Moyano’s mandate as CGT general-secretary ends in 2013 and elections are to be held in October.

Cavalieri said last Friday that teamsters chief Hugo Moyano should realize his time as secretary-general of the CGT union umbrella group is coming to an end.
