South-easterly storm persists, alert for strong winds lifted
River Plate waves ram against the banks of the Buenos Aires coast line during yesterday´s Sudaestada.
Weather forecasters and the Naval Hydrography Service lifted the alert for gale-force winds today, however the storms and rainy weather is expected to continue throughout the day.
The storm caused flooding and power cuts throughout yesterday, as well as a number of accidents along the motorways.
Ten districts across Buenos Aires were said to have been affected by yesterday's storms including Berazategui, Quilmes, Verisso, Ensenada, La Plata, San Fernando Tigre, Olivos and Beccar.
Today's outlook will see densely cloudy skies, rain, strong winds with lowered temperatures ranging between 8 and 12 degrees, the National Weather Forecasting Service (SMN) said.
