Bossio: '60% of children in Argentina receive ANSeS benefits'

The head of the ANSeS social security agency Diego Bossio said today that six out of every ten child under the age of 18 in the country receive funding from the government's benefits scheme, highlighting the positive impact this has had on thousands of families.

The social security agency boss detailed that currently in Argentina; there are 12.35 million children under the age of 18, of which 59.6% receive benefits.

Yesterday, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced a 25.9% rise on the universal child allowance, going from AR$270 to AR$340 pesos monthly (u$s72.5).

The increase in child benefits to be filtered into the various existent government schemes is set to exceed 29 billion pesos, five times more than the current investment of 5.2 billion pesos, the government said yesterday.
