Sarmiento train line service delayed due to electrical problems
The Sarmiento train line service, which runs between the Once terminal and Moreno station, was running with a reduced schedule today between Liniers and Moreno, due to electrical problems.
According to train company sources, rail workers have been sent to the affected area and were working to resolve the issue.
The technical problems come at the same time as contracted workers employed by the Sarmiento railway line announced yesterday that they would block the railway tomorrow in response to reluctance by JB, the company operating the concession, and the government in terms of dealing with their employment situation and to demand the reincorporation of fired union delegates.
The contracted workers will meet today at midday in the central hall of the Once train station, where an accident on February 22 killed 52 and injured over 700, to hold a press conference and announce the time and place of the block.
Delays of around 14 minutes were currently affecting the lines in addition to the reduced service as a result of the union conflict.
