Banco Ciudad bill 'should be rejected,' says City Cabinet Chief
City Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta echoed negativity toward the bill being pushed by national government lawmakers in the Senate, which when passed will move court funds from Banco Ciudad to Banco Nación, and said “more than debate, what they should do is reject the bill.”
The statements were made during an early morning interview with a local radio station, where Larreta said that Victory Front Senator Daniel Filmus “should decide today whether he supports porteños or whether he is against them,” referring his voting for or against the passing of the bill.
“The money we are talking about does not belong to (Mauricio) Macri, it is money we use to lend to people for mortgage loans,” the city cabinet chief said, further underlining that if the bill is passed it will “go against thousands of city residents who trust Banco Ciudad and affect small and medium-sized companies.”
