After floods, Governor Scioli vows to attend all damage claims

After a series of floods that affected the Buenos Aires province, governor Daniel Scioli assured that the situation in the region’s urban areas “are going back to normal” and ratified that his administration will “attend each claim of flood damage.”

Scioli met with farm producers and micro entrepreneurs from the region and assessed the situation according to reports presented by both the Farming Affairs and Justice ministers Gustavo Arrieta and Ricardo Casal.

Casal overflew the farms affected by the floods, most of them located in Bolívar, Saladillo, General Alvear, Tapalqué, Carlos Casares and Pehuajó.

“We found that the urban areas are in good condition, as well as provincial and national routes. Dirt roads also remain open and available for traffic. However, some roads close to the most affected regions are not,” the head of the Provincial Emergency Committee, Gustavo Timerman, said.

The report also indicated that “some people have been evacuated in the rural areas of Saladillo due to the severe floods affecting less-traveled roads, just like others in smaller province towns such as San Enrique and Ordoquí.”
