Presidential Palace demolished in Haiti
Professionals and workers carried out the demolition work of the National Palace in Haiti, which was almost completely destroyed by the earthquake that shook the country’s capital on January 12th, 2010.
The fatal earthquake caused an estimated 300,000 deaths and left nearly two million people without homes.
The demolition work was led by J/P Haitian Relief organization, which was created by Sean Penn after the earthquake, and was said to take a total of two weeks.
A Latin American news agency said that the construction of the new presidential palace, designed by George Baussan, had been started.
