Barrionuevo drops out of anti-Moyano CGT meeting
The White and Blue CGT led by Luis Barrionuevo announced it will not take part of a committee meeting for the anti-Moyano CGT on Thursday, due to the Government’s lack of responses to union’s claims.
Barrionuevo supporters unanimously decided to not attend following a lunch at the restaurant workers union headquarters.
The decision was surprising because until Monday, White and blue CGT were set on having talks with the anti-Moyano faction, due to the possibility of having tripartite leadership facing the difficult task of choosing a secretary general that satisfies all parties.
Thus, Barrionuevo questioned the anti-Moyano faction over the lack of advances to achieve certain labour conquests before the new CGT is conformed in October.
“We see that there are no signals from the Government to give an answer to our claims. It clear that there’s no serious union unity,” the head of the petrol stations workers union Carlos Acuña assured.
