Moyano to make 'nationwide call' for expansion of universal child allowance benefits
As his strong confrontation with the National Government continues, CGT leader Hugo Moyano will call on all workers in the country to demand for an expansion of the universal child allowance programme while visiting the city of Neuquén on Monday.
Moyano and the head of the petrol workers union, Guillermo Pereyra, will use the city as a platform to launch an initiative that looks to draft a congressional bill that makes the universal child allowance “truly universal.”
The teamster’s goal is to have all workers from both the public and private sectors receive the $270 pesos monthly benefits that the universal child allowance programme provides.
The CGT has assured that the workers’ children “are being discriminated” by the Government because they don’t have the right to receive “such fair benefit.”
Sources in the umbrella union informed that the ceremony will take place on Monday at 11 am in the city of Neuquén.
