    A government spokesman confirmed today the United Kingdom is seeking repayment of a Malvinas War era debt owed by the Argentinean government. Alleged 45 million pounds (US$ 71 million) were lent to the country’s military junta in 1979.

    Villa 31 residents lifted the roadblock they staged in Ramón S. Castillo avenue, in the City neighbourhood of Retiro after 8 hours and several clashes with Metropolitan police officers. Demonstrators threw stones against the police officers, who shot rubber bullets in retaliation. They had already clashed earlier today over a blockade staged at Illia highway.
