Vasco da Gama defeat Lanús

Souza celebrates after scoring the second goal of the team.

Brazil's Vasco da Gama defeated Lanús 2-1 in the match for the first leg of the Libertadores de América Cup pre-quarter finals.

Vasco da Gama's Alecsandro opened the score at 25' of the first half, while his teammate Diego Souza netted the second goal at 41' of the same half.

Lanús' only goal was netted by Mario Regueiro at 17' of the second half.

Vasco da Gama: Fernando Prass; Fagner, Renato Silva, Rodolfo and Thiago Feltri; Romulo, Felipe, Felipe Bastos and Diego Souza; Juninho Pernambucano and Alecsandro. Coach: Cristóvao Borges.
