Aguad calls UCR to ‘rebuild identity’, confirms disagreement with YPF expropriation
Radical party’s Deputy Oscar Aguad came on stage to reaffirm his differences with the party’s decision to vote in favour of the expropriation of YPF on next Thursday’s Lower House’s session, and confirmed that he will not endorse the measure.
Likewise, the lawmaker called for a “deep and thorough internal debate between members of the UCR.”
Aguad had already announced that he will leave his deputy-seat as soon as the voting starts since he doesn’t agree to endorse the expropriation of the oil and gas giant.
“I refuse to approve it, and I will not submit to this blackmail that consists of using a noble cause to hide a big failure.”
Aguad hopes his behaviour could trigger an internal debate so that “the Radical party starts to rebuild its identity.”
To end, the lawmaker asked the leaders of the party to “define a government programme, and set “the line of action in Congress.”
