Nursery school teacher accused of tying up one of her pupils

A nursery school teacher was removed from her position today, after being accused of tying a 4-year-old girl to a chair in a children’s nursery in the city of Buenos Aires.

The incident took place at the Kindergarten N°1 “Alfredo Palacios” in the BA neighbourhood of Palermo, Marcela Goenaga, the Buenos Aires City Director of Pre-school Education, informed.

Goenaga told the press that the teacher had been removed from her position in order to be questioned by the school’s administration and police, following the report given by the mother of the young girl about the happenings.

The teacher “is on a medical leave and will be put forward for questioning by the administration, following the girl’s mother’s report to the school head,” the city government education minister furthered.

Goenaga went on to say that “the teacher, who has been working for 15 years in schools and has no history of any similar incidents.”

Furthermore she stated that “the mother of the child too her daughter out of school and has requested she be transferred to another establishment, a measure which was also carried out by another mother in the nursery.”
