Menem: 'I will back YPF's expropriation'
Former president Carlos Menem said today he will attend the Upper House debate on YPF's expropriation and back the national government's bill.
"The scenario has changed, the situation is different now than when I decided YPF privatization. I know I will be criticized but it won't be the first time," he added.
In statements to a local newspaper, Menem stated that "Repsol kept the company's profits outside the country and didn't invest in Argentina" adding "I have nothing against Spain, but Repsol did not make any investments here."
