Repsol's Brufau: 'Argentina will have to pay a fair price'

Repsol group’s chairman Antonio Brufau assured today that the Spain-based energy group “believes in Justice and not in demagogy."

During an inauguration of a new refinery plant in Murcia, Spain, Brufau assured that Argentina “will have to pay a fair price for the expropriated 51 percent stake, and not whatever Economy Deputy-Minister [Axel Kiciloff] wants to pay as he knows very little about calculating companies’ values.”

The Spanish businessman said that the Argentine government’s reaction “was something we saw coming”, but warned, “Repsol believes in Justice, and we know that courts respond to true values and not demagogy.”
