Aníbal Fernández confident YPF’s draft bill will be cleared for debate

Fernández assured today that the YPF expropriation draft bill will be cleared for debate by the Upper Houses’ Committees.
Victory Front Senator Aníbal Fernández assured today that the YPF expropriation draft bill will be cleared for debate by the Upper Houses’ committees currently discussing it so that it can hit the Lower House floor next Wednesday.

At noon the three Senate’s committees will resume discussions on government seize plans for the Spanish-ran oil company Repsol-YPF, the former Cabinet Chief said.

During a TV interview this morning, the Senator reiterated the Upper House will press on with discussions at a plenary session today and stressed he had “no doubts of its approval” as there will be “no inconvenient” to clear the draft bill.

Fernández also praised Economy Deputy-Minister Axel Kicillof and Planning Minister Julio De Vido considerations during the discussions initiated yesterday as “phenomenal” and “splendid.”

The Senator refused to address Spanish media concerns over the YPF seize by saying he would rather “worry about the Argentine citizens interests instead.”
