Garré says she 'believes' in Boudou, blasts media
Security Minister Nilda Garré ratified that she believes Vice-President Amado Boudou’s statements regarding the case investigating embezzlements accusations against him, and once again blasted the media for “manipulating facts” and “taking statements out of context.”
In a press conference, the minister said that “some sectors in the media are manipulating facts and taking statements out of context in order to make it sound as if we’re turning against each other.”
Garré was referring to her statements published in recent newspapers and websites that suggested that she was supporting federal judge Daniel Rafecas, who is leading the case involving the Vice-President.
“It is not my role to give an opinion on this matter because I don’t know the case nor its contents,” she said, but clarified that “she believes in the Vice-President.”
She also assured that she had requested “a detailed report in order to clear certain elements within the Gendarmerie” after information of the judge’s order to raid Boudou’s apartment was allegedly leaked to the press.
“There is no chance that if was them who leaked the information, because when the Gendarmerie arrived to the apartment, they ran into a press photographer who had been waiting outside the property since the day before,” she stated.
