Ten people die in long distance coach accident in Jujuy

Ten people died and 60 were injured as a long distance coach crashed in Bárcena, Jujuy province on Friday.

The coach was headed from Bolivia to Buenos Aires province when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell three metres. Seven people died instantly and another three died in nearby hospitals, Jujuy province police chief Nazario Torres. Three of the fatal victims were minors, authorities added.

Most of the coach’s passengers were Bolivian citizens, although there were Canaria, Spanish, French, British, German, Peruvian and Argentine citizens as well.

Injured passengers were taken to Pablo Soria, San Roque and Doctor Héctor Quintana hospitals.
