Edenor, Edesur could be fined if the 'electricity service is not resumed'

Planning Ministry''s Administration''s Coordination and Control under-secretary, Roberto Baratta.

Planning Ministry's Administration's Coordination and Control under-secretary, Roberto Baratta claimed the energy companies Edenor and Edesur to resume the electricity service in the areas that were strongly affected by last night’s storm.

“Both companies must resume their services as soon as possible or they will be sanctioned,” the official stated.

“Last night’s storm is affecting the electricity service in Buenos Aires City and several districts in the Greater Buenos Aires area,” Baratta said as he reported that the ministry is working to “rapidly solve the situation.”

Baratta assured that “the consequences of the storm were severe in the City, where energy chambers were flooded and trees fell over the electrical installations,” as he estimated that “by the end of the day, the service will be mostly normalized.”

He also warned the distributors that they will be “fined if the service interruption continues or if there are inexplicable delays in the service.”
