Gendarmerie raids Vice-President Boudou's apartment
Gendarmerie officials raided Amado Boudou’s apartment in Puerto Madero on Wednesday, in connection to the case investigating accusations of embezzlement against the Vice-President.
The raid was ordered by Federal Judge Daniel Rafecas, who is leading the investigation in the popularly called “Ciccone Case.”
After entering the property, gendarmerie officials noticed that the apartment was empty and vacant.
Rafecas ordered the raid on Boudou’s apartment, located on 700 Juana Manso St., a request placed by prosecutor Carlos Rívolo.
The Vice-President does not reside in the property, but rents it to Fabián Carosso Donatiello, friend and business partner of Alejandro Vandenbroele, head of the former Ciccone company.
The apartment was found vacant. No documentation was found inside. Official investigators met with the building’s security personnel to discuss any recent activity inside the property.
Rafecas explained that according to Amado Boudou’s sworn statement, the apartment is rented to Donatiello.
The raid was ordered after the prosecutor’s office learned that Donatiello “never lived in Argentina,” for which investigators tried to establish the reason as to why the apartment had been rented to him.
Boudou has been accused of intervening in the lifting of the Ciccone bankruptcy plan.
According to sources, Rafecas is looking to determine if Vandenbroele, currently under investigation, ever lived in the apartment.
