Coach Caruso Lombardi signs for San Lorenzo
Coach Ricardo Caruso Lombardi yesterday accepted San Lorenzo’s financial offer to replace Leonardo Madelón who resigned on Sunday after the team’s 2-0 defeat by Vélez Sarsfield. Caruso Lombardi was offered 60,000 dollars per month and a bonus of 500,000 dollars if the team stay out of the promotion and direct relegation zones.
But first Caruso Lombardi must arrange to break his contract with Quilmes for which an investment group must pay Quilmes 150,000 dollars. If this is done in time, the coach could take charge of today’s San Lorenzo training session.
Caruso Lobardi said: “It will be easier to keep San Lorenzo in the National Championship than to get Quilmes (currently third) promoted from the National B Division.”
