AMIA inquiry: Judge announces Menem, Galeano to stand trial

The investigation into the 1994 attack on the Argentine Jewish community centre (AMIA), took another turn today as judge Ariel Lijo, took the cause which accused Carlos Menem and former judge Juan José Galeano of perverting the course of justice in the case, to trial. 

The federal judge announced that the cause would take the former judge in charge of the case Juan José Galeano, ex-president Carlos Saúl Menem, former SIDE boss Hugo Anzorreguy, former deputy head of the SIDE Juan Carlos Anchezar, former chief of Metropolitan police Jorge Palacios and former Federal Police member Carlos Casteñeda to trial.
