Italian singer Gian Franco Pagliaro dies aged 70
The well-known Italian singer and poet, Gian Franco Paliaro, died last night at the age of 70 of a heart attack, authorities of the Union for Argentine Composers and Authors (SADAIC) informed.
According to the union, a funeral service will not be held for the singer, who has lived in Argentina since the 1960s, but his body is to be cremated at the Pantheon at Chacarita cemetery in Buenos Aires.
With compositions such as “The things that push me away from you” (‘las cosas que me alejan de ti’), “My friends, I am in love” (‘amigos míos me enamoré’), “All of the ships” (‘todos los barcos’), and “Confessions of an ex” are just some of his works that will be eternally remembered.
Pagliaro was born in Naples, Italy on July 26 in 1941 and after starting to sing in his native city, in 1956 at the tender age of 15, he arrived to Argentina and began his professional music career.
