'CGT's dialogue with gov't should be re-established,' Viviani
Members of the CGT labour confederation expressed their willingness to "re-establish dialogue" with the national government today, following a frosty period between the two entities.
The statements were made by teamster union secretary and head of the Taxi Drivers' Union, Jorge Omar Viviani in a radio interview this morning, ahead of today's meeting taking place at the union headquarters this afternoon.
“Dialogue between the national government and the CGT should really be re-established,” stated Viviani.
In addition to commenting on the umbrella union’s relationship with the government, the head of the taxi driver union also divulged his opinion over the upcoming elections in the union, and although did not rule out the possibility that Moyano could be re-elected, made it clear that it would be fair for another person to lead the teamsters’ union.
“There is a possibility that Moyano will be re-elected,” Viviani stated, however furthering, “It would be democratic for another teamster to lead the CGT union,” and it would be “healthy” for others to put themselves forward for the position, like Antiono Caló, head of the UOM.
