'I killed my son to take revenge on his father'

The woman accused of choking her six year old son to death, bluntly said “I killed him to take revenge on his father,” while addressing reporters as she was taken into custody in La Plata, Buenos Aires province’s capital.

Earlier today, La Plata’s Judiciary today officially ordered the arrest of Adriana Cruz, the mother accused of choking her 6-year-old son to death in the jacuzzi of their house in Presidente Perón private neighbourhood in Buenos Aires province, court sources informed.

Judge Juan Pablo Massi said that the lead suspect, aged 42, and born in Brazil, should be confined to a prison with psychiatric assistance.

The measure was taken by the magistrate after Leandro Heredia, the judge leading the investigation, ordered the woman’s arrest charging her with “first-degree murder”.
